The winter sucks. I always thought New York winter’s especially sucked because of the weather. Growing up in the suburbs outside the city, I cannot remember a single winter in my  life where it has been as mild as this one. Good for riding, probably bad for the planet’s environment, hopefully that will be a demise I won’t be around for. Ben new that the winter was gonna suck, and there have been some cold one’s mixed in with the warm, so he done got preperated for the ciznold bitches!!!!!!!!!!  and what better way to throw a little excitement into your daily messengering monotony than with a new ‘cross bike.

All City did a great job with this frameset. We have one floating around the shop at a super reasonable price. TRP Cross canti brakes, TRP ergo aero hoods, Deda Newton Ergo drops, Surly Hubs Laced to Velocity A23′s are some of the gems that grace this beauty. I took it for a spin last night and was pleasantly surprised at its nimble, speedy handling. Custom builds make me smile and they make the short, slow, winter day’s suck a little less

One of our most diehard customers and up & coming racer, Ben Samford won himself a new All City Nature Boy for participating in the most recent  NACCC‘s.  We figured we outta snap some pics with his new beauty. Our other sponsored rider Heather Muller, got herself one too, but we’re  yet to get our hands on hers.

On top of that, we just finished building up a 55cm Nature Boy as well, so swing by and peep it its a little more advanced than All City’s stock build. Ya’know that BBS touch..

Things have finally begin to slow down here at BBS, so that gives us an opportunity to do some fun stuff. That means wheel building! This week I built some Suzue Pro Max hubs to H+Son TB14′s, using DT Swiss spokes & nipples. These are for sale in the shop here for $420. Little much for your budget? We have lots of other more inexpensive wheels we built this week for sale as well!

As you may have noticed by now, we love Livery Design Gruppe here at BBS. This summer we set up our awesome customer Jeff with one of their new MK3. We decked him out with some of the sickest new parts, a few from LDG themselves.

Here at Bushwick Bike Shop we are STOKED to announce that we are the new Spooky Bikes dealer for the NYC area. We already have two Skeletors here in the shop! This summer at Bushwick Bike Shop we were able to pick up a new brand, Livery Design Gruppe. I’ve mentioned them before, you remember that stem. Well they recently released their new fixed freestyle frame the HAMMER, matched with the TANK fork. Thus we have a black medium Hammer frame & Tank fork here in the shop. This is the same frame Congo is rippin on right now! Stop by the shop and check it out! (or come buy it!)

With Kissena opening this month, its to break out the track bike and whats better than a new wheelset!

Working out of a small space in the Velo Brooklyn basement, with any spare time I can find, I’ve been slowly figuring out the detailed process of building handmade bicycle frames, forks and racks. What started as an after school apprenticeship for Spooky Cycles during high school, has led to a lifelong passion and interest for me. After hours upon hours of practice, trial and error, leaving the hobby, and coming back to it, I’ve  reached a point where I feel comfortable enough with my skill to offer custom project options to the public through the shop. I want to build bikes fore people based on their individual needs. Strong bikes that can handle the abuse of NYC, while still looking beautiful.
